Day 6 Munich
B: Buffet at Hotel Ambiente
Roast Pork Crackling and Potato Dumplings English Gardens |
L: Went to the English Gardens, Chinese Pagoda beer garden
restaurant, sampled the roast pork, with crackling with potato dumplings and a
caraway seed gravy, a very generous and tasty meal, rating 8.0, also sampled my
first Hoffbrau lager (5.2%) alcohol, went a treat with the meal, rating 8.0.
D: After such a big lunch pass.
Day 7 Munich
B: Buffet at Hotel Ambiente
L: Chilli wurst roll, rating 7.5 and a Lagerbier Hell (5%),
rating 8.0.
Went to Hoffbrau and Augustiner beer halls, the litre steins
of Hoffbrau matched the earlier sample, rating 8.0, whilst the Augustiner
(5.2%)was even better lager beer for my palate, rating 8.5.

Day 1 Munich
Day 1 Munich
B: Buffet at Hotel Ambiente
L: Went to Andecks Monastery beer garden, and tried the
enormous roast pork knuckle with potato salad, rating 8.5, and the local lager

Day 2 Munich to
Strasbourg
B: Buffet at Hotel Ambiente
L: Roast Pork knuckle on fresh bread roll.D: Snacks on the train.

Day 3 Strasbourg to
Nancy
B: Coffee and croissant
L: Ham and Cheese Baguette, sampled a couple of Kronenbourg
beers, nice and cold, rating 8.0.
D: Found a small restaurant near Stanislas Square, and they
had 3 course meals for 15euro. I sampled Smoked Ham as entrée, Chicken fillet
with a cream sauce, served with rice and a ratatouille of zucchini, squash and
tomatoes, followed by a crème caramel, very satisfactory meal, well worth a rating
of 8.0.

B: Coffee and croissant
L: Ham and Cheese croissant, followed by a vanilla slice and
a coffee éclair. This was a real French affair, and tasty to boot, rating 8.0.
D: Snacks on train.
Day 5 Brussels
B: At Hotel Sabina
L: In the masses of restaurants at Grande Pace Grote Market,
found a Chinese restaurant offering a buffet for 10 euro, so sampled, hot and
spicy soup, curry chicken beef and vegetables, spring rolls, calamari rings,
fried rice sweet and sour chicken and deep fried prawns and fruit salad for
desert, had to rate an 8.0.
D: Went to La Biere Circus, where the barman was the resident clown, and tried a beer drinkers
special, speck, potato, leek, and carrot on toast, with a small salad, a very
filling meal, rating 7.5, followed by a few samples from an extensive beer menu. Namely a
Vivien Imperial Pale Ale, 8.0%, very malty and dark colour, rating 7.5, next
was a Stribbie Pils, a clear ale, very refreshing, rating 8.0, and finally a
Keyte Dobbel Trippel 9.2%, a dark almost black beer, triple blended, very
fruity and spicy, a cross between a Guinness and a double sars, dangerously
easy to drink. I can now work out how soccer hooliganism started, a 6 pack of
this rocket fuel, and even a 50kg weakling, would think he could fight and beat
Mike Tyson, a top beer , rating 8.5.

Day 6 Brussels
B: At Hotel Sabina
L: Went to Antwerp for the day on the train and found a
Belgium specialty, a hot potato chipper, made fresh from real spuds, matched up
with a curry bratwurst and the hot samurai sauce (which burnt the next day), a fast
food winner, rating 8.0, had to have a beer to cool the palate, a Juliper 5%,
not a bad lager, rating 7.5.
D: Dined at another beer bar near accommodation, an ordinary
offering of spaghetti bolognaise, Leffe wheat beer 5%, not my favourite, rating 6.0, Juliper Lager , again a good drop rating 8.0, Hoegarrden wheat beer, again not my favourite, rating 6.0 .
