Barcelona
D: After 2 weeks of no pork meat, we must have been craving so we bought a packet mixture of chorizo, salami and 2 types of ham, some nice cheese and had these on rice crackers to ease back into Spanish cuisine.
Day 6 Barcelona
B: As the hotel charged like a wounded bull for Wi-Fi, we had brekky at Maccas Coffee and Bacon and Egg muffin.
L: Chicken kebab with chips.
D: Thin Margarita pizza, a nice change, rating 7.5, went down a treat after a 6 pack of ice cold Heineken stubbies which I had bought the previous day for 2.59 euro, around $3.30, still a top beer, rating 8.5.
Day 7 Barcelona
B: Coffee, Bacon and Egg muffin.
L: Went to the dock/port area and found a nice restaurant, which had a 3 course meal option for 10 euro, so I opted for spaghetti Bolognese entrée, rating 7.5, fish lightly coated in flour and fries, served in a potato and herb like sauce with peas, another unusual way to serve fish, but it was quite tasty, rating 7.5, followed by a citrus custard with a biscuit crumble, rating 7.5, also tried a local Pilsener beer as part of the deal, rating 7.0.

D: After a big lunch, had a lamb bacon and cheese baguette with chips for a late supper, rating 7.0
Week 19
Day 1 Barcelona
B: Yoghurt, savoury muffin and fruit.
L: Bought the same mixed cold meat pack, chorizo, salami 2 hams and cheese and a really fresh and tasty multigrain baguette which went down very well.
D: last night in Spain so we opted for tapas, tried chicken croquettes, mini chicken drumsticks, and chips, all rather greasy and very disappointing last Spanish tapas, rating 6.0. I also sampled a couple of Estrella Damm beers, 5.0% alcohol, a decent beer, rating 7.5.

Day 2 Barcelona to Perpignan
B: Coffee, Bacon and egg muffin.
L: Snacks on the train
Found a bar near hotel, so tried the local brew, a lager, too malty for my palate, it was cold, so rating 7.0.
D: Lizzie picked pasta, so I tried my first fusion pasta dish, curry chicken and spiral pasta, not too bad but I think I will stick with rice and naan bread as curry accomplices, rating 6.5, desert was the an apple crumble, rating 7.5.

Day 3 Perpignan
B: Coffee, OJ
L: Ham chees and lettuce baguette, with a mayo/horseradish dressing.
D: As part of the Catalonia region, there is still a strong link with Spain, we spotted a Tapas bar and decided to sample their wares. We tried Marinated olives, chicken croquettes and deep fried whitebait, a very good tapas sample, rating 8.0, also tried a …… beer.

Day 4 Perpignan
B: Coffee, OJ.
L: Took a train ride up to Mont Louis, in the Alps, had Chorizo, cheese baguette, followed by fresh cherries and blackberries picked from roadside tree and bushes.

D: First roast meal in ages, after we spotted a spit roast during our walks through the old city area, roast pork beef cheek and spare rib, served with roast potatoes and salad, desert was a vanilla ice cream with chocolate topping, a nice simple but tasty meal, rating 8.0, cost 10 euro.

Day 5 Perpignan
B: Coffee, OJ
L: Smoked Salmon, lettuce and tomato baguette, and 2 ice cold Heineken beers, still a nice ale, rating 8.5.
D: Broke with our usual pattern and went to a burger chain Quick, and had a chicken burger with chips and a drink, still ordinary fare rating 6.0, cost 7.5 euro.
